First Edition Points: The Online Guide For Rare Book Collectors lists the following points of issue: ' "First published in 1979 by The Viking Press" is stated on the copyright page with no references to subsequent printings. Boards are black with author's initials embossed on the front, and gold lettering on a black cloth spine. The dust jacket has no reviews. Back of dust jacket has an 11-line quote from the book with ISBN on the bottom right corner. The back dust jacket flap has a photo of the author above a 4-line bio. ' This copy meets all the criteria. Very Good+ in a Good+ Dust Jacket. The Text Block is clean, white, tight (though the final signature (32 pages) is slightly misaligned - this must have occurred when the book was bound), straight, and canted, with no markings of any kind other than a prior owner;s name on the front free endpaper (other endpapers are unmarked). The Binding is black quarter cloth to black boards, faded along the top edge and spine, with corners showing wear. The Dust Jacket is bright and mostly intact with four noticeable chips and wear along the edges and corners, which are now reinforced discreetly from behind with archival (pH neutral) materials. The original price ($11.95) is intact on the front flap. See photos. 426 pages. 6 1/4" x 9 1/2".
