ISBN10: 0851119832, ISBN13: 9780851119830, [publisher: Leicester. Inter-Varsity Press] Hardcover First Edition Leicester. Inter-Varsity Press. 2001. Hard Cover. Stated First Printing on copyright page. Medium 8vo 9½" x 6  [24cm x 15cm] approx. 455 pp. Blue cloth boards with gilt titles to the spine. Glossy monochrome photographs illustrate the text. Fore edge of text block has some faint marks but the contents are pristine. The author and John Stott have signed a pastedown to the front free endpaper stating that this is Volume 2 of the authorized biography of Stott. Photographic dust jacket without any discernible wear. Book and jacket are fine. This volume continues the story begun in 'John Stott: the making of a leader'. It encompasses the last forty years of the twentieth century, beginning in 1960 when John Stott, the established Rector of All Souls Church had clearly emerged as a widely respected evangelical leader of energy and vision. Creative conflict and drama are ever present, as John Stott is found in dialogue, debate and dispute not only with unbelievers, but with outstanding liberals, charismatics, Anglo-Catholics, Roman Catholics, and fellow evangelicals. His call for a contemporary biblical discipleship and the development of a Christian mind became a hallmark of his teaching through the decades of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, skilfully chronicled in this highly readable biography. Scarce in signed state.
