Mann is a professor and the director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State (the Nittany Lions!). With other scientists he jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work in the International Panel on Climate Change, and in 2012 he was awarded the Hans Oescheger Medal fo the European Geosciences Union. He also cofounded Real Climate dot org.
