A scarce book. The contributors to this volume include Shamus Frazer (New College, his Oxford novel 'The Acorned Hog' advertised on the rear flap), Robert Speaight (Lincoln College), Edward Tangye Lean (University College, brother of David Lean), Renée Haynes (St Hugh's College, the daughter of E.S.P. Haynes), G.E. Trevelyan (Lady Margaret Hall), Thomas Hodgkin (Balliol College), et al. in general, recent graduates, a couple still up, contemporary with the editor. Oxford is the point of origin, rather than the destination, of the ire collected in these pages, which aspire to 'the most complete and frankest expression of the Oxford mind there has yet been'; it does so, avowedly, on behalf of the 'outlook of the younger generation', and the authors featured are all of the generation born in the first decade-and-a-half of the century (pre-War).
