Wonsetler. Pale green coloured tint to top paper edge. Pink coloured boards with embossed garland of flowers and illustration of a head of a Texas Longhorn on the front panel, with decorations on the spine with gray writing. Very minor bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine, and a little rubbing to the book corners. Rubbing to the rear spine gutter edge. A few handling marks to the end papers. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by John C. Wonsetler, with orange insert and black and white writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed, slightly faded and the back panel is both dull and grubby. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and there are is also a little chipping to the top spine edge. Some foxing to the rear fold over crease and top fold over edge. A few marks to the verso of the dustwrapper. The book has a very slight lean, is extremely clean, with no corner bumps or edge dings and no fading. The spine ends are very lightly bumped with no fabric damage; the bottom edge has no wear and the hinges are strong. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any type and paper damage of any sort. The paper, including the end pages, is slightly toned but is very flexible. The VG- quality jacket has no fading and has tiny chips at the front corners and head of the spine, with a finger nail sized chip at the top of the front panel in the Landmark shield. The jacket is intact and is not price-clipped. This is a "Young Readers of America" (BMOC) and thus there are no book lists in the book or on the jacket.
