Grosset & Dunlap, Date: 1959. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 9x6x1. Willliam Barss. Vintage Cloth Cover Hardback Book with Dust Jacket. Book itself is in Very Good condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text appears to have had little use. No writing in the book. Outside cloth covers are nice with some corner wear. Dust Jacket is in Good condition and shows some minor soiling. It also has some edge chipping primarily to the outside spine with a strip of clear tape at the top area of the outside spine. Dust Jacket is now covered by a new clear mylar cover. Book Club Edition. Signature Books are easy to read and provide lively, entertaining, and factual stories about famous people. Though written simply enough for young readers, they make interesting reading for boys and girls well into their teens. This is the story of a shy, awkward, lonely little girl who, because of her courage and selflessness, today is a person known and loved the world over.
