[publisher: Random House, New York] Hardcover First Edition This is a Young Readers of America selection. This has a letter with the author's signature on it. There is a bookplate on the front paste-down with four names on it and there is a small light stain on the spine otherwise this is a clean book with light wear. The dust jacket is very edge worn especially from the head of the spine across the top edge of the front cover and is missing missing 1/4 inch up to 3/4 inch . There are tears and there is chipping to the bottom edge and there are a couple of pieces missing from the heel of the spine as well as a 3/4 inch X 1/8 inch piece on the spine. It is rubbed and there is some soiling to the back. We placed the dust jacket in a high quality Demco protector to preserve it from further wear, tear and soiling.
