First Edition Joseph Karl Stieler (1781 à 1858) a débuté comme peintre de miniatures. Son style dans le portrait s'est surtout formé lors de son séjour dans l'atelier parisien de François Gérard, un élève de Jacques-Louis David. En 1808, il s'établit comme portraitiste à Francfort-sur-le-Main. Il voyage en Italie en 1810. En 1816, il se rend à Vienne pour peindre un portrait de l'empereur François Ier d'Autriche. Il fut nommé peintre de la cour de Louis Ier de Bavière en 1820. De février à avril , il travailla à son portrait de Beethoven, qui est aujourd'hui une des représentations les plus connues du compositeur. Il fut aussi entre 1827 et 1850 l'auteur des portraits de la galerie des beautés du château de Nymphenburg qui se trouve à lintérieur du pavillon sud . Elle rassemble trente-six portraits de dames munichoises célèbres pour leur beauté . L un d entre eux réalisé en 1829 représente Nanette Kaula (1812-1876) fille d un banquier à l âge de 17 ans au format 72,5X59,2 cm . La peinture que je vends est une miniature sur ivoire que l artiste a aussi réalisé à cette époque. Cette peinture miniature est signé à droite par Joseph Karl Stieler . Elle a été réalisée sur ivoire et elle est en dans un état moyen à cause du soleil qui a probablement altéré la vivacité de ses couleurs par rapport au portrait de la galerie des beautés du château de Nymphenburg .
