I will tell you what I see; I have called it Second American Edition - Revised. It shows a copyright of 1965 in all three vols. Vols 2 and 3 are stated 16th printings. Vol 1 is a stated 17th printing. All three dustjackets ($11.95) are in Very Good (spot on back of vol. 3) to Near Fine condition and dated on the rear flap 1978. This is why I think the printing date is 1978. All volumes are boards covered in black cloth with gilt lettering and colored illustration. The downgrade of condition due primarily to Vol 1 showing slight spotting and definite handling while Vols. 2 and 3 seem unread; no markings in any volume. In addition there is a fold-out map at the rear of each volume and endpapers in each volume match in color with the illustration on each front board. The basis of "second" edition is the addition of Appendixes, Index, Corrections, and an addition to the Prologue. Slipcase in Very Good condition; no splitting. Additional postage may be required.
