Description:
New York: Random House, 1938. First edition. Brown cloth in dust jacket; small 8vo. 56 pp. An unusually attractive copy of the third collection and third book by an author better known now for his mysteries especially THE BIG CLOCK. Praised by M. L. Rosenthal as "the chief poet of the American Depression", and by Thomas Disch among others, he was a unique voice, sadly little-read today. The endpapers browned but less than usual, the dust jacket somewhat spine-darkened, otherwise near fine.
