Indianapolis: Foster Hall Reproductions, 0000. This is a complete set of three "volumes" contained in three sturdy cloth-covered boxes which are in turn inserted into a three-slot metal slipcase. Each "volume" consists of reproductions of first or early editions of Foster's works, reproduced as they were issued (i.e., sheet music, book, etc.). One of the boxes is also enclosed in another, thin cardboard box. The collection is guaranteed to be complete by the library that de-accessioned and sold them to us, and includes a photocopy of the 16-page index/bibliography with each item marked off as being present. (And what a job that must have been.) The reproductions are in fine condition, evidently never having been used for anything except the collating. The set was originally donated to the library by the Josiah Kirby Lilly, the publisher, in 1934, as indicated by a slip laid in. It is set No. 361 of 1000. One box has some scuffing on one side, otherwise the boxes are also in fine condition. Only the brown-painted metal case shows any signs of "wear," having a few minor scrapes or scuffs in the paint. A most unusual bit of musical memorabilia. It is also extremely heavy, and "unusual" shipping charges would pertain. Please inquire.. Hardcover. Near Fine.
