Description:
London: Macmillan, 1937. Revised edition. Hardcover. Very Good/near fine. 8vo, 305pp., black cloth; short tear in head of spine and dust jacket, otherwise fine [Wade 191]. A revised and amplified version of an important book which had not previously been available to the general public, setting forth the esoteric principles, doctrines, and experiences from which muchof Yeats's most notable work in poetry and prose derived its inspiration and significance. "Almost anyof its crammed pages would need a volume to elucidate its meanings. It is possible it may be discussed feverishly by commentators a century hence, as Blake's prophetic books --so ignored, so unintelligible a hundred years ago -- are discussed by many editors in our time --A. E."
