Ace issued their science fiction doubles from 1953 to 1973 (there were "doubles" beyond 1973, but they bore a single cover which listed both books). The books were issued in 5 letter-prefix series based on original cover price, and 1 numerical series. Offered here is the FIFTH and last letter-prefix series, the "H" series, consisting of 19 volumes issued from 1967 to 1968, and bearing an original cover price of $0.60. It is the COMPLETE set of Ace SF doubles H series, starting with H-20, to H-103. The H series consisted almost entirely of first editions, and several authors made important appearances here. Notable first editions are by Dean R. Koontz (Star Quest, his FIRST book), Space Chantey by R.A. Lafferty (cover by Vaughan Bode, his only Ace Double cover), The Last Castle by Jack Vance, and the first 2 entries in E.C. Tubb's Dumarest series, The Winds of Gath and Derai. Other writers made appearances, such as Kenneth Bulmer, Emil Petaja, Tom Purdom, A. Bertram Chandler, Mack Reynolds, John Rackham, Louis Trimble, Clifford Simak, and others. Condition of the books ranges from VG to unread fine, with most being at least near fine. Very attractive colourful books.
