Synopsis:
Some 1,000 critically annotated entries, with introductory comments and cross references, provide a comprehensive guide to printed and organizational sources in women's studies throughout the world. It is both an overview of information sources on women's studies as a subject for study in its own right, and a guide to women's studies literature within other academic disciplines.

The entries encompass a vast array of topics relevant to women's studies, including general areas and such special fields as education and women in Africa. In some areas the authors have relied heavily on U.S. sources, many of which can be found in Women's Studies: A Recom mended Core Bibliography, 1980-1985 by Catherine R. Loeb and others (Libraries Unlimited, 1987). Of special interest in this work, though, are the listings on sources of organizations, databases, and nonprint materials. However, because most students can be well served by the earlier book, this work will be of greatest interest to researchers, especially those needing international sources. Recommended.
