The Free Press / Macmillan, 1988, New York. Hard Cover. Book condition: Near Fine. Dust jacket condition: Fine. Unstated edition, indeterminate printing due to the absence of any number line. Hardcover in unclipped dust jacket. 9-1/2" tall, 420 numbered pages includes "Sources and Further Readings". This book has been read and is in very decent condition: the book has a slight lean but is very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings with lightly bumped but otherwise undamaged spine ends; hinges are strong. Except for an inked name/date/city on the back of the FFEP, the interior is perfectly clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and any sort of paper damage. Not remaindered or ex-library but possibly a Book Club edition--there is no 'slug' on the rear board and no mention of any book club on the jacket, but the absence of any price on the jacket is suggestive and a bit suspicious. The dust jacket is clean and free of tears, scratches, scrapes, and fading; jacket is now protected by mylar jacket cover. A narrative and analysis of 16 Supreme Court cases, but Irons focuses on the individuals in each controversy, using their own words to bring out their emotions. A very good read and a look at how the Court functions. Seller Inventory # BMR-2021-6-9-2
