About the Author:

Alderman Edward M. Burke is the Dean of the Chicago City Council, its most well-known historian, and a former policeman. Thomas J. O'Gorman is a Chicago historian and storyteller, at home in the poetry of its urban life. Both have authored several books on Chicago history and architecture.
