Synopsis: The book is a collection of the author's personal recollections and history of the Vancouver Barracks during the 1930s and 1940s; the Main Street businesses, the Police and Fire Departments, and people and events of the WWII era in Vancouver, Washington. Included are many vintage, black and white photographs.
About the Author: Wanda Bafus was born in Paha, Washington in 1916, and has lived in the Vancouver area since 1932, where she married and raised three children. She was a civilian employee for the Army; retired from the Social Security Administration; retired from the Washington State Department of Social Services; has volunteered at the Barracks for years; and continues to work on numerous writing projects including her memoirs.
