Radar at Sea - The Royal Navy in World War 2.

There is no doubt that during the short period from 1938 to 1945 radar had a greater impact on naval warfare than any other development since steam replaced sail. During those seven years, radar stripped away darkness and permitted enormous improvements in fire control. In air warfare, the larger ships had an electronic plot of all targets above the horizon out to 120 miles and could vector the Fleet's fighter aircraft on to attacking aircraft.
This book tells in non-technical language how this was achieved. Addressed to the general reader, it tells not only the technical story in simple terms, but also of the part it played in naval operations at sea - for warning, for fire control, for fighter direction, for navigation - in the Battle of the Atlantic, in the Mediterranean, in the Normandy landings, in the Pacific, and all other theaters of war, and particularly about the people who designed and fitted the equipment, and those who used it at sea.
