At 8:45 a.m. on December 6, 1917, two ships collided in Halifax Harbor. The Mont Blanc, loaded with munitions, caught fire, and twenty minutes later exploded. It was heard 200 miles away, and the force killed 1650 people while levelling 2 square miles of the city. This is the story of the disaster.
