Drawing on oral traditions, Judge Fornander's history follows the lives of the Island's great historic chiefs portraying life in the Islands before the arrival of Captain James Cook. Abraham Fornander was a Swedish immigrant to the islands who lived in Hawaii from 1843 to his death in 1887.
