These two decades have seen the demise of the Regional and District Councils set up in 1975, but not before all but one had recorded arms; they have seen the arrival in 1996 of the new Area Councils, all but two of whom have so far sought and been granted armorial bearings; they have seen a healthy and commendable growth in petitions for arms from the Community Councils.
