If it's a flying boat and it's Russian, it's a Beriev. This book is a little ripper, running through the gamut of Beriev's move into jet power. It's fair to state that the 'planes got better looking as they went on, although it seems that extended manufacture of any variant has not been manageable. The most fascinating chapter in the book is the "what if?" chapter of supersonic flying boats, and flying boat transports that could carry as much as a ship....fantastic stuff.
