Wellington: Schematics, Date: 2006. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. A very clean copy. Some minor light shelf wear only. A storm of local protest saw he railway offered a reprieve, but unable to attain the level of tonnage the Government required for it to remain open, the railway was finally closed in September 1955. Despite future protests - one of which made headlines on the other side of the world - the railway remained closed, and by December 1956 the Nelson Section had ceased to exist. The hundreds of photographs in this book come from a variety of sources: museums, railway collections, even a laminated table m ...
