First published in the US by Walker in 1962 under the title Death and Sensuality: A Study of Eroticism and the Taboo. Translated by Mary Dalwood. Originally published in France in 1957 under the title L'Erotisme. The front cover has a heavy vertical crease down its length and a one inch crease to the bottom right corner. The spine has a small patch of surface damage at the centre and a small mark near the bottom. The back cover has a three inch crease to the bottom left corner and the covers have surface and edge wear. Quite heavy brown spotting to the page edges. The first page has a name and date in red pen at the top corner and there is creasing to the corners at the front and back of the book and in a few places through the book.
