When war was declared in 1939 Ken Eather was just the third soldier to enlist into the AIF in New South Wales. He formed the 2/1st Battalion of the AIF, and went on to lead it with distinction in the AIF's first major battle of World War2. He personally played a vital role in the victory over the Italians at Bardia and he was prominent in the battle to capture Tobruk. The book has only light tanning but heavy foxing.
