This is a collective publication with the participation of distinguished Greek and foreign scientists aiming at the projection of the substantial contribution of the Salonica Theatre of Operations to the outcome of the First World War, as Thessaloniki was the starting point of the victorious counter attack, in September 1918, that led to the gradual capitulation of Bulgaria, the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary and finally, Germany. The front of Thessaloniki might have been one of the most discreet regarding concentration of military power, strategic priorities and losses but it made up in an effective way for its three-year existence. These historical facts  have been underestimated by international historians.
