Text inside the books are legible and clear as are the illustrations found within. Spines of all books are in very good condition, with no cracking, minimal fading, and all binding remains very tight. The 3 volume set covers a detailed history of English books and pamphlets on botany, gardening, horticulture and silviculture. Within the three volumes are some illustrations and sketching of particular plants and fauna. Henrey also compiles an extensive bibliography of sources used giving all the library locations in Britain and Ireland. Volume 1 deals with early 16th and 17th century. Volume 2 deals with the entirety of the 18th century. Volume 3 contains the bibliography for the 18th century.
