Patriota ed esule politico, conobbe in Inghilterra Gabriele Rossetti e Giuseppe Mazzini, insegnando nelle scuole per italiani. Nel 1847 pubblic il pi importante dei suoi scritti 'An essay on the political, religious and moral state of Italy', destinato a suscitare un interesse non trascurabile presso il pubblico anglosassone. Three quaters brown morocco, spine gilt in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, marbled endpaper, all edges gilt. Provenance: The Collection of Litsa Tsitsera A valuable written and pictorial survey of Italy: from Nice and Ventimiglia in the north west to Naples in the south. "A large proportion of the engravings in this collection are from drawings by W[illiam]. Brockedon ...
