With a colour frontispiece showing 'Amanita muscaria' (Fly Agaric toadstool) and one further colour plate within, plus six figures within the text. ***Near fine in black buckram boards with gilt titles on the spine. The boards are clean and unmarked and the gilt is still beautifully bright. No bumps or creases. Corners sharp. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Page block edges clean. Top edge of the page block stained orange by the publisher, slightly faded. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. No creases or tears. No foxing. Pages clean. With mushroom line-illustrated endpapers. ***In a very good dustwrapper, which is complete and has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's dual printed price of 63s / £3.15 net at the top of the front flap. As usual with this title, there is some rubbing at the edges, with some loss to the surface colour, mainly at the base of the spine. No serious creases, chips or tears.
