Sanpei Kageyama has been Professor of Statistics and Discrete Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Hiroshima University, Japan, since 1992. Professor Kageyama is a Foundation Fellow of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications, and a council member of the Mathematical Society of Japan.
