Title page states this is volume 1--probably the only volume issued, but nevertheless, it is complete in itself. Original maroon cloth binding with gilt spine and cover lettering. Rear cover soiled, front cover clean with bright lettering. Spine has wear to top and bottom and split to lower rear gutter; the end papers are split and contents are therefore quite loose in the binding (it needs end paper repair to remedy this). Previous owner's name. The pages are somewhat age toned.
