Bound in full red morocco, spine gilt decorated, with gilt title. Front cover with gilt decoration (an elephant with a palmtree), single fillet on both covers Paste down : marbled paper within a composite floral fillet frame. All edges gilt. The original cloth frontwrapper has been preserved and bound in at the end. (Elephant fighting a crocodile). and also with a flawless interior. Very fine binding in near perfect condition ( nothwithstanding some slight abrasion of the original front wrapper.)..

A fine bright copy with none of the usual flaking to the white pigment on the binding. Preserved in a cloth chemise and morocco-tipped slipcase. Tall 8vo, original pictorial cloth, dust jacket.
