Introduction by George R. Marck, who also has an extensive essay reevaluating the work of Strauss and von Hofmannsthal. Included is the complete libretto, in both German and English, and photos of the current production by the Metropolitan Opera. 200 pages. Bright blue cloth covered boards with the title and author name imprinted in gold on the spine and cover. Boards are flat, corners are not bumped or creased, no edge wear to the boards. Sewn binding is tight and square. Dust jacket shows little if any wear. Edges of the text block are clean. This is not a remainder, not a library discard.
