[publisher: Gollancz, London] Hardcover First Edition This is a Fine copy of the first UK edition of this book, in a Near Fine dustjacket, signed on the title page above the author's name. The dustjacket has some minor edgewear and a 2' closed tear at the top of the front cover; it's protected by an archival cover and the book itself is housed in a custom slipcase. No foxing, the pages are clean and the binding is tight, does not appear to have been read. This is a beautiful copy of a title I have rarely seen signed; I have not in fact seen another copy of this edition signed. This is the second Heinlein Juvenile and is from my personal collection. I will only ship this book Express with tracking. Shipping can be combined. All overseas buyers need to contact me to check shipping rates prior to ordering as there is currently no Economy Air option for shipping outside Australia. Extraordinary times.

[publisher: Sidgwick & Jackson, London] Hardcover First Edition The UK First edition hardback from 1953, with green boards; this is the first volume of the Future History Series and contains a reprint of his first published story "Life-Line" along with five other stories and an introduction by John Campbell. This is a unique book. It is signed as "Robert A. Heinlein" above the title on the title page, inscribed on the title page and signed again as "Bob Heinlein" -- but then it is also initialed on the dedication page (To Ginny) as "RaH", under a drawing of a female figure labelled as "Ginny" next to a depiction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The inscription reads:" To Neville Cohen -- Between raindrops, in Sydney, 21 Feb 54 All good wishes!". This is the day after Robert attended a meeting of the Futurian Society of Sydney in Oxford Street Darlinghurst. The book and dustjacket are in Very Good condition. The pages are heavily foxed; on the front page there are both a sticker for a Sydney bookshop and the stamp of a Neville Cohen -- the same person to whom the book is inscribed. The dustjacket has one small chip at the top of the spine and a small tear at the bottom of the spine; it has some creasing and some dark marks on the back cover -- please see the pictures for more detail. The dustjacket is protected by an archival cover and the book comes with custom clamshell case included; this is from my ...

THREE MEN IN A BOAT (TO SAY NOTHING OF THE DOG), Arrowsmith, Date: 1889, first edition, spine darkened with wear at the extremities, covers at fore edge lightened, a near good copy in the publishers original cloth. Illustrated. Previously Robert Heinlein's copy with his hand-written notation at the base of the first page of ads listing the publishers new authors and titles stating "After 100 years these two are the only authors I recognize - RAH." Of the list of 37 titles and their authors above, he has starred both Wilkie Collins and Brander Mathews. On the half-title page is Heinleins gift inscription to his early biographer, Wells scholar and fellow author, Leon Stover, mentioning the 3 men of the title by name. Heinlein presented this book to Stover cryptically stating that "if you read this, you will then understand me !!!" (See Robert A. Heinlein In Dialogue With His Century: 1948 - 1988 The Man Who Learned Better: Vol 2, page 459). Also laid in is a photocopy of a SIGNED 'Birthday Wishes' card to Robert Heinlein congratulating him on his 80th from President Ronald Reagan and his wife. Obviously a unique copy. 1889. ***** RARE VARIANT BINDING ***** THE MAN WHO SOLD THE MOON, Shasta, Date: 1950, first edition., fine in bright vg/vg+ dust-wrapper with some light wear and tear. The first book of the authors famed FUTURE HISTORY SERIES. This copy is bound with a black cloth spine as is the usual case, but with a tan front and rear panel in cloth as well (as opposed to paper boards). Also, the head and tail bands are striped red & yellow as opposed to black & white. With the release of the new Heinlein biography, Robert A. Heinlein, Volume 2: In Dialogue with His Century: 1948-1988: The Man Who Learned Better, it is apparent that Heinlein did not know of the existence of this issue. When mentioned to the publisher, Mel Korshak, he stated that he was unaware of it also! Only the second copy I've had in more than a dozen years in this format. The title story won the retro HUGO award for best novella of 1951. 1950. Shasta Publishers US
