ISBN10: 0151890501, ISBN13: 9780151890507, [publisher: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York] Hardcover Not price clipped; original $7.95 price showing. Letter line "B C D E" to copyright page leaves no room for an "A," though there's also no "First Edition" or "First Printing" statement, so this may be a second printing. Book will close its own text block; it's "very good" although there are two small cracks to yellow cloth along bottom edge of front board. Warhol generally signed this book "sideways" with his squiggled initials (only) to bottom corner of the page in black felt-tip. But a number of copies do exist in which he signed his full name, this being one of them. (Warhol books with similar, full diagonal signatures being offered by sellers including James M. Pickard of Leicester, U.K. -- ABA, ILAB, etc. -- and Studio Books of Thornwood, N.Y., as of this writing in the Spring of 2022, seem to be priced in the range of $1,000 to $4,500. The pen used to sign here may be the color used by proofreaders marking final typeset pages, designed to disappear if re-photographed in B&W, such light blue ink known in the trade as "Non-Repro Blue" -- though others here see it as green. Closed one-inch tear to top of jacket spine. 241 pp., reduced from $840.

A loosely formed autobiography by Andy Warhol, told with his trademark blend of irony and detachment. In The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, which, with the subtitle "(From A to B and Back Again)," is less a memoir than a collection of riffs and reflections. He talks about love, sex, food, beauty, fame, work, money, and success; about New York, America, and his childhood in McKeesport, Pennsylvania; about his good times and bad in New York, the explosion of his career in the sixties, and his life among celebrities. Andy Warhol (born Andrew Warhola; August 6, 1928 - February 22, 1987) was an American artist, film director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.
