This volume from the University of California's English Monarchs series treats the reign of the Yorkist king Edward IV. An able ruler, he was weakened by his marriage to Elizabeth Woodville, a woman of of lower nobility who was accused of all manner of schemes including witchcraft. Edward was the older brother of Richard, Duke of York, who after the former's death became Richard III. This fine volume would go nicely with Paul Murray Kendall's Warwick the Kingmaker and his volume on Richard III (Inv. # 2.3.1.20).
